Quite some Business Intelligence Competency Centers are functioning suboptimally. This is mostly due to a variety of reasons going from lack of political mandate, a reactive role, too much emphasis on the efficiency of reporting rather than the effectiveness of decision-making through other tooling.
In order to improve the functioning of the BICC we explore the current environment, get more insights and pinpoint problems and formulate improvements to be taken. Understanding what goes wrong and formulating a roadmap for improvements mostly take two to three weeks depending on the complexity of the organization. Implementing improvements is mostly done in a hands-on coaching mode, helping the BICC manager.
